As one of the UK’s leading players in the FMCG market they pride themselves on setting high standards, being courageous and pushing ourselves to think outside the bottle.
Our client employs over 1,800 people and has 3 factories, 3 office locations and a national distribution centre. Over the last few years, they have installed 10 new production lines, 3 new warehouses, a combined heat and power plant (CHP), as well as providing infrastructure for further expansion.
The Role
As part of our wider collaboration with our client, Engex is seeking an Engineering Lead Process Owner. The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced digital transformation programme to deliver a suite of engineering related capabilities to drive improved site level performance and KPIs.
Working closely with site management and subject matter experts, you will be responsible for defining the supporting processes needed to realise the identified benefits. Following this, you will lead the business implementation of these processes through various phases of testing, inspections, trials etc through to the successful adoption of the new working practices throughout the engineering department. Success in the role will be the delivery of business. benefits with stakeholders kept informed throughout a significant cultural change journey. The role reports to the Group Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert process definition and support for engineering teams
Support colleagues to embed and stabilise new processes and working practices
Work with teams to identify common pain points to alleviate through the new processes. Utilise data points from machines, processes, automation to support this
Establish and build strong relations with stakeholders at all levels
Define detailed business scenarios and test cases to demonstrate the new capabilities are fit for purpose
Support the change team to ensure high levels of support and user adoption for impacted engineering colleagues including training, communications, and awareness, 1-2-1 meetings, focus groups, operating procedures etc.
Obtain or provide approval for changes to rules, processes, and policies.
Participate in all aspects of the digital programme; workshops, document approvals, queries, playbacks etc
Obtain and build subject domain knowledge to become a recognised expert across Engineering processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
Practical Engineering / Technical / Facilities Maintenance experience with a proven track record of maintenance service delivery
Strong PLC / HMI and industrial automation experience
Extensive experience of working within a strategic, target driven manufacturing environment which is measured by robust Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Working in fast paced programmes with key milestones and reporting requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skill

Qualifications:
Multiskilled Engineering apprenticeship HNC / degree level Qualifications / supported with relevant engineering experience in manufacturing or relevant professional experience/examples of the responsibilities outlined in the details above within a manufacturing environment
